SOEN

SOEN is a Swedish progressive metal band known for blending crushing heaviness with post-rock atmosphere and melodic depth, creating a sound entirely their own. Formed by former Opeth drummer Martin Lopez alongside vocalist Joel Ekelöf, the band broke through with their boundary-pushing 2012 debut Cognitive and have spent over a decade building a reputation as one of the most compelling live acts in modern metal.

Six studio albums later, their most recent release, Memorial (2023), was named Best Album of the Year by Metal Hammer Germany, cementing SOEN‘s place at the genre’s forefront.
