About
MESHUGGAH
Few bands have altered the vocabulary of heavy music as fundamentally as MESHUGGAH. For nearly four decades, the Swedish quintet have built one of the most distinctive bodies of work in modern metal, combining rhythmic complexity, dissonance, repetition and crushing physicality into a sound that has influenced generations of musicians. Formed in Umeå in 1987, MESHUGGAH began with thrash-metal foundations before rapidly pushing into far stranger territory. Albums including Destroy Erase Improve, Chaosphere and Nothing established the ideas that would come to define them: polymetric riffs, displaced accents, extended-range guitars and an ability to make extreme technical complexity feel overwhelmingly visceral. Nearly four decades into their career, MESHUGGAH remain one of the rare bands whose influence is matched by their continued relevance. They have never simply stayed ahead of their time. They created a musical language that much of heavy music is still learning to speak.
PERIPHERY
Hailing from Washington, D.C., Periphery have been pushing the boundaries of progressive metal since 2005. Founded by guitarist and producer Misha Mansoor, the band have become pioneers of the djent movement, blending crushing riffs, intricate rhythms and soaring melodies. Drawing inspiration from bands like Meshuggah, Periphery have earned widespread acclaim and a Grammy nomination along the way. With releases such as Periphery V: Djent Is Not a Genre and their latest album A Pale White Dot, they continue to redefine modern metal with their signature mix of technical precision, experimentation and sheer intensity.
VILDJHARTA
Hailing from Hudiksvall, Sweden, Vildhjarta have been redefining progressive metal since 2005 with their dark, atmospheric and fiercely unconventional sound. Known for their signature “thall” style, the band blend crushing, down-tuned riffs, complex rhythms and haunting melodies into a unique mix of chaos and beauty. From their groundbreaking debut Måsstaden to Måsstaden under vatten and their latest album Där skogen sjunger under evighetens granar (2025), Vildhjarta continue to push the boundaries of heavy music, creating an immersive and uncompromising sonic experience.
